Transferring Files from Robin Hood
Files may be easily transferred between your account on Robin Hood and your
folder on the Windows NT file server using an FTP
program.
- Use the "Programs" option of the Start
menu to start "WS_FTP95" (probably listed by "Network
Services").
- A "Session Profile" window will be displayed to let you select
the computer to be connected to.
- The "Profile Name" and "Host Name" should be set
to msc.tamu.edu (these may already be set if you have previously
transferred files to or from Robin Hood).
- Enter your Robin Hood login name as the "User ID" and hit
the "Enter" key.
- You will be prompted for a password to verify your identity.
- After being successfully authenticated, you will be shown a window with
two white boxes side by side. The left box lists your Windows folders and
files. The right box lists your folders and files on Robin Hood.
- You may scroll through the list, select any file(s) you would like to
transfer, and click the arrow in the middle to copy the file(s) in the appropriate
direction ('<-' or '->') between Windows and Robin Hood.
- For other options, select the "Help" button at the bottom
of the window.
